The Pearson BTEC Higher National qualifications in Business are aimed at students wanting to continue their education through applied learning. This diploma is delivered with a flexible classroom-based method, through a variety of course materials, case studies, discussions, presentations, enquiry-based learning and problem-solving activities. We provide you with key reading and research activities, and you will make the most of our own teaching portal.

Method of Assessment:
The purpose of assessment is to ensure that effective learning has taken place of the content of each unit. Evidence of this learning, or the application of the learning, is required for each unit. The assessment of the evidence relates directly to the assessment criteria for each unit. The grading of BTEC Higher National qualifications is at the unit and the qualification level.
Assessment is carried out through home-based assignments, which means you will have plenty of time to dedicate to each criteria. By having small groups, you will have more time for discussions where you can share your experiences at your place of work.
Structure of Programme:
Requires 240 credits, of which 120 credits are at Level 5 (7 units) and 120 credits are at Level 4 (8 units).
Teaching, Learning and Assessment Procedures:
This course offers both variety and flexibility, ensuring that the learning and assessment activities are relevant and of value for future progression. Learners are continuously and actively involved in all sessions. The sessions are delivered interactively, with discussion sessions and tutorials in the form of hands-on and problem-solving activities building on the relevant academic study skills including ICT concepts and practices.
Sessions help learners to use different software applications and online tools. Learners are asked to reflect on the tools and activities, inviting discussions with regards to their own knowledge and skill and adapt these tools to their current situations and contexts. Feedback is given where appropriate throughout the course.
Learners are also introduced to appropriate websites and other related material for further development of their knowledge and skills.
Assessments will be designed according to the guidelines of each module specification. In general, the assessments will enable learners to demonstrate achievement of learning outcomes across the individual elements of the programme. The range of assessments utilised will normally include: essays, reports, presentations and other structured assignments and examinations.
Assessments are drafted in conjunction with the curriculum development department and tutor concerned. Final version is confirmed by the curriculum development department.
Assessments are moderated by tutor concerned, then also verified by the Internal Verifier.
Each successfully completed unit will be graded as a pass, merit or distinction. A pass is awarded for the achievement of all outcomes against the specified assessment criteria. Merit and distinction grades are awarded for higher-level achievement.

Exemptions from providing evidence of English language proficiency may arise if you have studied your previous qualification in English.
Students should produce copies of certificates, full CV preferably in EuroFormat and passport-size photo.
